I earned my license in 1995 and jumped straight into packet radio on 2m, 70cm, and 23cm. Back then, it was all about mail forwarding until the internet came along and pulled the rug out from under it.
After moving to Blackpool, I set up servers for DMR, Fusion, and HubNet. Interest was limited, but I have kept two servers running steadily ever since.
In 2015, I gave packet another go, this time with Paul G4APL. We made progress, but firewall complications made it tough to sustain. Then Neil got involved with BPQ32, which reignited my interest. Chris G6FCI has also been a great support throughout.
That's when things started to shift again. I am still experimenting, refining, and chasing the potential of HF packet.
If you're into HF packet, VARA HF, or just want to see how it's done without the fluff you're in the right place.
